1. Educational Technology Guy
The reason that I decided to chose this as one of the teacher blogs was because of the very first topic that I saw on his page which was titled, " 4 Factors to Consider When Debating Cell Phones in Schools - Guest Post." Scrolling down the blog I found different topics such as social media and kids, organization and productivity tips, and google education practices. The one that I have chosen to write about would have to be the one that grabbed my attention write away. In this post, he broke down the four different factors of the cell phone use. One of them was the role of tech for education. One thing he said was a benefit of the cell phone usage was how school can be one of the best places to teach about technology management skills. A downside can be how some sources have linked that overexposure can be linked to insomnia and depression. Second one said time saved and spent which mentioned how cell phones can help aid in accessibility for students with disabilities who are unable to take notes, could take pictures of slides. The third one said content which talked about how use of content can have beneficial factors in the classroom, while also having negative effects. The final one talked about social connection. An example was how children having access to their cell phones allows families to be able to reach out to their children faster. It also can have a negative impact by opening the doors to cyber bullying.
2. EDTech Focus on K-12
One of the reasons why I chose this teacher blog to write about is because the website is very well put together. They have the different topics categorized in a way that makes exactly what you're looking for easy to find. I chose to read the entry that said, " 4 Ways Esports Improves K-12 Skills." The first one said better spatial attention, an example used was a fast paced action game could be more beneficial for quick decision making. The second one was enhanced problem solving which mentioned how gamers spend time failing they have to figure out new strategies. The third one said practice, patience, and perseverance and the final one was increased physical activity.
3. Dangerously Irrelevant
I chose this teacher blog because of the title. I was curious on why someone would name their blog, " Dangerously Irrelevant" and what their blog could be about. His most recent entry is a podcast about " Moving from digital substitution to deeper learning. His blog talks a lot about innovation and about embracing our different ideas.

Welcome to my Blog
My name is Michelle Lomotey. I was born on July 20, 1997. I attend Columbus State Community College, with my major in Early Childhood Education. I will be graduating from the program in the Summer of August 2019. I'm currently employed at a Childcare Center in Hilliard, Ohio as an After School Coordinator. I work with preschool age children all the way up to 5th grade. I didn't always know that I wanted to work with children. For the longest time I wanted to be a writer. There's something about putting your thoughts on paper, and then typing them out that's so beautiful and relaxing to me. Writing is one of my favorite things to do when I get the chance. My favorite sports to watch are basketball and football. I'm currently in a book club with a group of my coworkers and we just started the new Nicholas Sparks books, which has been really good so far.
When it comes to my goals as an educator, it's pretty simple. I want to be able to make a difference in children's lives. I don't want to just teach them, but I want to help instill good values and morals in them that they will hold onto in their future. I want to help reinforce creativity in each child that I get the chance to interact with. As an educator, I believe my job is to help each child that comes into my classroom to be the absolute best that they can be. To believe in themselves, no matter what the odds are.
